- always inform teacher of any difficulties or problems you might encounter
Punctuality
- school starts at 8:20 and finishes at 14:20
Respect deadlines
– This includes paying for outings, activities and the handing in of notes/forms
HELP Document – Healthy food policy
- no sweets, soft drinks or artificial fruit juices allowed
- birthday cakes should be plain without any colouring, icing sugar or jam
Uniforms and PE kits
- wear uniforms and PE kits with no added colourful accessories or jewellery
- blue socks and black shoes/white socks and white sports shoes on PE days
Attendance
- children who are absent for 3 consecutive days will not be accepted in class unless they present a medical certificate
- children who are absent on more than 3 non-consecutive days in a month should also present a medical certificate
Consent forms
- it is very important to send id authorisations and photocopies of id cards on the first day of school.
- please try to include as many people as possible
- for the children’s own safety children will not be allowed to leave with anyone who is not listed on the consent form
- where applicable consent forms should be signed by both parents
Please check notebook and/or class website everyday for:
- homework diary
- important announcements
- website will also include calendar of events, photos, pupils’ work, links and other relevant material
- parents who would like to contact me can do so through the website or by appointment (by informing administration)
Parents should not talk to the teacher at 14:20. Kindly make an appointment.
Environmental matters
- use of recycled material is strongly encouraged
- where possible always re-use things instead of buying new ones
- teach children to avoid unnecessary electricity and water consumption
- no Christmas cards allowed to be given in school
Homework
- 2 subjects given on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
- 3 subjects given on Friday
- reading given everyday particularly on Wednesday
Word Game
- to be given on a weekly basis (8 words per week)
- consists of a list of high-frequency words
Reading
- reading is an important part of the daily homework assigned to the children
- encourage children to borrow books from the school library
Always inform teacher and/or administration of any significant legal/medical matters involving the child.
